Payment for Damaged District Provided Technology Items
You are receiving this message because your child’s district provided device was recently damaged. This message outlines the damage categories and fee schedule in the event the device is damaged.
Accidental Damage Category & Fee Schedule
If a Chromebook or iPad is accidentally damaged, families will be responsible for the cost, based on the fee schedule below:
- 1st issue - District will cover the cost
- 2nd issue - Families will pay a $50 fee
- 3rd issue onward - Students/parents are required to cover 100% of the repair/replacement cost, up to the full cost of the device.
Intentional Damage Category
If a Chromebook or iPad is intentionally damaged (including, but not limited to: improper care, neglect, and/or misuse), students/parents are required to cover 100% of the repair/replacement cost, up to the full cost of the device, and/or charging cord, and/or carrying case.
Loss, Theft, Parts, and Replacement Fees
- Chromebook - $180.00
- Chromebook Charging Cord - $20.00
- iPad - $299.00
- iPad Lightning Cable - $19.00
- iPad Charging Brick - $19.00
- iPad Protective Case - $20.00
The repair cycle will restart each school year, but families will still be required to pay outstanding fees and certain restrictions may apply until the fees are resolved. Accommodations will be provided by the school district for families that qualify for free and reduced-priced lunch.
